I am passionate about internet marketing. Unwilling to leave my computer for any significant length of time will paint the picture of my borderline obsession with it. I have invested, what for some would be considered half of a lifetime, in understanding and educating myself on a deeper level than just process. Before internet marketing I did a fair amount of writing. Fortunately for me, writing and web marketing are the perfect match, despite the somewhat arranged nature of their union.
I fell in love with internet marketing after working at a marketing firm as an editor. I created search engine optimized web copy that eventually led to managing my own projects. I had excellent mentors and learned the core principles of internet marketing. It wasn’t long before I was seeking out information from every corner of the internet trying to put it all together into some logical explanation. As with everything for me, and probably for many, just knowing the moves is not enough. I will tire quickly unless I know “why”. Thankfully web marketing is a very logical process that does have a purpose and reason for every action it proclaims. Understanding that whole picture on a deeper level than just process was an incredible “aha’ moment. I can honestly say now- “It all makes perfect sense” I don’t find that to be true with very many things in life. Sure there is an element of the unexplained too, especially with SEO, but that’s the variable in this game that keeps it interesting
WHAT I LOVE
One exciting thing about the internet and marketing on this landscape, is that it comes loaded with those “a-ha” moments when bits of information come together in one beautifully harmonious union to solve the previously unexplained.. Usually these “epiphanies” are followed by smaller ones that happen in rapid progression as the dots begin connecting. These are the moments I live for and ironically the same one’s that have nearly killed me in the discovery process. Seeing your hardwork rise to the top of search results isn’t bad either.
Web marketing has a lot of personal rewards that always give back what you put in. Sometimes that road is long and you have thoughts of giving up. These are critical moments that scream “don’t give up” and without fail that reward happens almost immediately after. Success rarely comes easy, if it did, we wouldn’t call it “success”
